Resumen:
In Paraguay, the pseudo stem of the banana tree is cut and thrown away annually after fruiting, then it is thrown in the farming areas for outdoor degradation. The widespread availability of these pseudo stem makes them a potential source of raw material for processing into pulp for paper, which motivated a preliminary study about its suitability as a cellulosic paper.
