Resumen:
Ce(IV) oxide (Cerianite) as well as its RE (Rare Earth) doped forms exhibit noticeable properties for solid oxide fuel cells because their high ionic conductivity. This property, combined with large surface areas, is a current goal in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. The development of novel procedures for the simultaneous control of chemical and textural properties of those binary phases requires a deeper understanding of the solid state transformation of suitable precursors. The present work explores the ability of crystalline hydroxocarbonates as a source of well defined nanometric Ce1-xRExO2-d solid solutions.
