Resumen:
The distribution and accumulation of cadmium, copper, zinc and mercury in muscle, kidney and liver were studied in catfish (Rhamdia quelen) of Nahuel Rucá Lagoon. Metal determinations were performed by AAS with air/acetylene flame and cold vapor techniques. All tissues presented similar metal distribution, being Zn > Cu > Hg. Cadmium concentrations were below of the detection limit. Mercury concentrations in muscle were higher than liver and kidney ones, while copper levels were in liver and zinc ones in kidney. Metal concentrations presented low tendency to accumulate, while burdens presented evidence increasing values vs size.
