Resumen:
For haemocompatible applications, smooth anodic coatings were obtained by anodization of Ti-6Al-4V using different electrolytes under pre-spark conditions. The degree of hemocompatibility is strongly related to the surface free energy (SFE) of the coating, defining the possibility of interaction with blood cells; therefore its measurement becomes important in anodic TiO2 coatings. TiO2 coatings were obtained using acid (sulfuric, phosphoric and acetic acids) and alkaline (sodium and potassium hydroxides) solutions as electrolytes, in 1M concentration. Morphological analysis of the coatings was performed using scanning electron microscopy, roughness was measured by profilometer and the phases were analyzed by X-ray diffraction. The contact angle was measurement by the sessile drop technique and the SFE was calculated using Owens-Wendt and Lifshitz-Van der Waals acid-base models. Smooth and amorphous thin films of around 100nm were obtained. Differences in the SFE and SFE components were found depending on the electrolytes used in the oxidation
