CHARACTERIZING THE ROLE OF GAMMA-SYNUCLEIN IN MELANOMA

Gamma-synuclein (ɣS) elevated expression has been reported in various cancers such as ovarian, breast and colorectal cancer, but to date there are no rigorous studies to address the role this protein could have in progression of melanoma. Our goal was to analyze if ɣS was related to melanoma development. For that, we worked with mouse (B16F0, B16F10) and human (SKMEL28, A375) melanoma cells. By Western Blot (WB), real-time PCR (qPCR) and immunocytochemistry (ICC) we observed the expression of ɣS in these cells.
