Purificación de la fracción celulósica del fraccionamiento del bagazo de caña mediante tratamientos oxidativos

This work applies the biorefinery concept to the purification of the cellulosic fraction from the hydrothermalalkaline treatment of sugarcane bagasse by using oxidative treatments, in order to obtain dissolving pulp.The pulp was treated subsequently with oxygen, ozone applying finally an alkaline extraction. Thedelignification of the oxygen stage was 83.3% and with the ozone-stage alkaline extraction treatment at thelongest time, a further delignification of 13.6% (end kappa 1.6) was achieved. The final degrees ofpolymerization of the pulps showed significant differences depending on the extraction procedure. When theextraction consisted of NaOH reinforced with hydrogen peroxide, the average DP of the pulp was 936 ± 39,whereas when only NaOH was applied, the average DP was 2065 ± 156. The final pulps brightnessincreased with the time of ozone treatment (ozone load)
