This article contributes to the debates on the dynamics of trade unions and the study of their activism. The trajectories of male and female delegates in the province of San Juan were reconstructed from the perspective of their career paths within their union and based on the question about how commitment to trade union activism is built. Through a qualitative approach we explore the processes of primary socialization, engagement in trade union activism, recruitment methods, as well as the stages of training and career development within trade unions.
