Resumen:
Moderm biotechnology heavily depends on the availability of efficient processes, wich should be able to generate competitive products in terms of quality  and cost. Most commonly, the recovery and purification of bioproducts is based on chromatografic separations. However, the lower productivity imposed by diffusional limitations, the need for multiple chromatographic steps and the requeriment of extensive solid separation, drives to a technological situation characterised by low global product yields. One strategy can be process improvements via direct product separation by development of novel adsorbents.
