Resumen:
Radiotherapy is nowadays one of the most used techniques for the treatment of different pathologies, particularly cancer diseases. The accuracy regarding the application of these treatments, which are planned according to patient information, depends mainly on the dosimetric measurements of absorbed dose within irradiated tissues. The  present work is devoted to the study, design and construction of an  original device capable of performing visible light transmission  measurements in order to analyze Fricke gel dosimeters. Furthermore, a  suitable bidimensional positioning system along with a dedicated control system and image processing software has been adapted to the dosimetric device in order to perform 2D dose mapping. The obtained results confirm the feasibility of the proposed method, therefore  suggesting its potentiality for clinical applications.
