Since Mick Taussig's denunciation of commodity fetishisms, attention given to the link between capital and the marginal people has served to productively illuminate two concurrent phenomena. One is the flow of hostile and meager moneys paid in exchange for life-giving labor. The other is the consequent differentiation ofeconomic but also religious agents of the two very different, but interlinked,economies of capital centers and its peripheries.
