Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) allows the visualization of the vessel wall tissue and plaque composition.Among others challenges in the computational analysis of IVUS, the retrieved images are rotated on its axis becausethe catheter pullback, the tortuosity of the artery and the motion produced by the cardiac activity. The aim of thepresent work is to track the guidewire artifact present in IVUS images, which can lead to improve existing methodsfor 3D reconstruction and cardiac activity estimation, among others analysis. A minimum path along a graph thatrepresents the correlation of the IVUS images with the guidewire artifact pattern is used to track the artifact.
