Resumen:
How galaxies are distributed within dark matter haloes has imprinted crucial information on their large-scale assembly history and how the environment impacts galaxy formation and evolution. In Rodriguez et al. (2022) we studied the alignment of the central galaxies using spectroscopic data from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 16 (SDSS DR16, Ahumada et al. 2020) and the galaxy group finder presented in Rodriguez & Merchán (2020).The results show: that central galaxies are aligned with the satellite galaxies within the same halo and with nearby structures up to a distance of ~10 Mpc. - The alignment depends on the colour: Red central galaxies are more aligned with the environment than blue ones. -An overall faint alignment between the major axes of the central galaxy and that of its group, dominated by the central red galaxies. Our main goal in this work is to determine the alignment of the central galaxies of the groups with the surrounding structures and satellite galaxies occupying the same system by applying the correlation function in simulation data.
