Resumen:
Objectives of the study:-To assess the capability of Advanced Himawari Imager-8 (AHI-8) data to track ecohydrologic wet pulses and their impact on vegetation productivity.-To evaluate the relationships between geostationary AHI vegetation indices (VIs) and ecohydrological variables. -To evaluate the UTS group atmosphere and sun-view geometry corrected daily AHI product and to compare with the 8-day MODIS MAIAC product. Results indicate that AHI-8 data have the potential to provide continuous, increased temporal resolution of vegetation dynamics. The AHI-8 data is shown to be useful to monitor vegetation response to wet pulses at daily scale, considering the pattern of Ozflux tower GPP measurements. Strong relationships among vegetation indices AHI satellite data and GPP in response to evapotranspiration were found. These findings will improve the understanding of ecohydrological dynamics of Australian semiarid vegetation and provide more consistent monitoring across variable wet and dry vegetation patterns.
