Resumen:
In Argentina, the military coup that seized power in 1976 introduced a new model ofaccumulation which was based on deregulation and financial hegemony of the marketswhich drastically transformed the country's economic structure and the living conditions ofthe working class. By implementing an extensive program of economic, political and socialpolicies, the military government, in partnership with leading local and internationaleconomic groups, set up the foundations for a new economic and social order; which wasconsolidated and then deepened by the various democratic governments that follow from1983 until the end of the XX century. The result was dramatic and in 2001 the countrysuffered its worst economic and social crisis of its short history. After having five presidents in fifteen days and with the default of most of its debt and theabandonment of the convertibility plan, Argentina has turned 180 degrees, and hasexperienced a process of sustained growth with average growth rates of 8% which has noprecedent in the recent history of the country. This performance was accompanied by thecreation of more than four million jobs, which has led to a significant reduction in theunemployment and underemployment rates. However, despite the outstanding performancein growth and employment, the evolution of income distribution during recent yearsindicates that the variable has not registered substantial changes in recent years. In this context, the aim of this paper is to analyze the relationship between growth, employment and income distribution, in order to, first, analyze the main characteristicsregarding growth, employment and income distribution in recent years; second, clarifyunder what conditions a virtuous cycle of growth and employment may not have substantialimpacts on income distribution and the nature of the relationship among variables; andfinally, address which are the main challenges that the working class will have in the coming years
