Resumen:
GPS is the most popular positioning system; however, it does not offer good performance indoors or in densely urbanized areas. Wi-Fi positioning systems offer excellent services for enclosed spaces using the existing network infrastructure to calculate the position of the mobile device. The most commonly used parameter is signal strength. This paper discusses outdoor accuracy of Wi-Fi positioning systems based on the Fingerprint technique with some variations aimed at improving the accuracy of the technique and minimizing calculation times.
