Resumen:
In this work, a specific flow shop scheduling problem of practical interest is presented. The problem considers raw material and final product warehouses, and the manufacturing system is arranged as a manufacturing cell. The scheduling performance is assessed in a multi-objective manner, considering makespan and total tardiness as performance measures. Furthermore, a metaheuristic strategy is presented to solve the problem efficiently and obtain good quality solutions using a reasonable computational effort, the procedure is based on an adaptation of the simulated annealing metaheuristic. Small-sized problem sets were generated to evaluate the proposed method, obtaining optimal or near-optimal solutions in times significantly reduced, compared to those required by the optimization approach, which uses CPLEX as a solver. In addition, the algorithm was tested with larger problems, to evaluate its performance in more extensive search spaces. Finally, to test the competitiveness of the proposed metaheuristic strategy, a mathematical formulation is proposed and solved with the augmented ε-constraint method in order to find the exact Pareto Front of the instances.
