Resumen:
This paper aims to discuss and analyze some theoretical and methodological issues related to using micro-wear analysis to identify hafting process in archaeological contexts. The case of Mid-Holocene end-scrapers from Maripe Cave site (Santa Cruz, Argentina), provides abundant evidence to identify specific cases and to discuss how different post-depositional processes affect use traces and in particular hafting traces that are often difficult to recognize. In this research, we also study the relationship between use mode and tool shapes, which can be used to interpret how hafted tools were used in the past.
