Bacteria of the genus Rickettsia are well known for their potential to create-partial strong-diseases in humans. In Argentina, mainly Amblyomma ticks act as vector of these pathogens for their transmission to human beings. Under the rickettsial diseases that occurred in Argentina, the spotted fever is the most important, and some fatal human cases are described so far. To get an overview of the occurrence of Rickettsia spp. in ticks?mainly Amblyomma?we collected ticks from the vegetation at various regions of Argentina. Ticks from the following species were found and tested according the occurrence
