Resumen:
Dairy cattle are daily subjected to stressful situations some ofwhich can be associated to reproductive problems. Under theseconditions, the microenvironment of the ovary is modified, affectingdirectly normal follicular remodeling, necessary to ovulation. Theaim of this study was to evaluate the matrix metalloproteinase 2expression, enzyme that is involved in follicular wall tissue remodelingduring ovulation process. MMP2 expression was evaluatedby immunohistochemistry on ovarian samples of cows treated withadreconcorticotropin (ACTH) every 12 hours, for four days beforeovulation time. Primary, small preantral, large preantral, antral,atresic and preovulatory follicles of treated animals (n=5) andcontrol group (n=4) were evaluated.
