Descripción:
In this work a seismological approach was used to assess the nature of the fracture stimulation in two wellswithin Vaca Muerta formation. The Frequency Magnitude Distribution (FMD)analysis was performed to different spatio-temporal coherent clusters ofmicroseismic events obtained during the stimulation of the wells. The two casesof study are located in the Neuquen basin, with different stress orientationbut in the same tectonic regime. The results shows that the b-value, theparameter that characterize the FMD, varies whether the hydraulic job generatesa new fracture or activates a pre-existing nature fault, as reported in theliterature. The influence of the pore pressure is analyzed and is identified asan important factor on the b-value obtained for each microseismic catalogue.
