The influence of shape and size of different particles on their coefficient of restitution´svalues are investigated in this study. The coefficients of restitution (CoR) of three different types of particles were studied. To analyze the influence of particle size on the coefficient of restitution, urea particles of four different sizes were considered and the existence of significant differences between their mean CoR values was analyzed through analysis of variance method. The CoR of lentils, polyethylene and urea particles were compared to analyze the influence of particle shape. There is a significant difference (p-value=0.0132) between the CoR values of urea and polyethylene. This work represents an advance in modeling and dependence of particles coefficients of restitution which contributes an improvement on CFD-DEM simulations of gas-solid systems.
