DUST EMISSION FROM STOCKPILES USING CFD

This work present a CFD study of the airflow around stockpiles. Two differentgeometries for the computational domain around the piles were tested to reducecomputational effort. A minor modification of the pile geometry was studied. Anindustrial scale stockpile and conveyor belt were modelled and the velocity profilesutilised as input for a semi-empirical equation to estimate dust emission from thestandard stockpiling process.
