Resumen:
Care, in particular of dependent old adults, represent one of the "niche" job placements for immigrant women coming from international and national feminized migratory flow, in the city of Buenos Aires. Based on research in qualitative sociology on the senses of care work for dependent elderly carried out by migrant women, this chapter aims at analyzing those women´s pathways, observing their labor experiences in this city. It will reflect on the image of "foreigner" workers that prevails - but also what the caregivers make of it - and which makes a mark on their labor trajectories in Argentinian capital. Starting with the glance into and the comprehension of care that the female workers offer allow us to acquire a deeper understanding of immigration with regard to care, about the differences between employments and care settings for old adults, as well as the importance of taking into account the complexity of the work itself, however socially so little valued, in the self-definition that women workers build.
