Performing numerical simulations of agent-based models can be verydemanding computationally, for large populations, if not impossible.This is why I will talk about how to introduce methods to simplifycomplex models, and particularly individual-based models. Thesemethods, inspired from physics can, under certain conditions, derivesimple dynamical systems (involving a small set of syntheticvariables) representing the main features (patterns) of the dynamicsobserved in a complex individual or agent based model.
