LOS VALORES Y EL SIGNIFICADO DE LA EXISTENCIA. UN ESTUDIO OBSERVACIONAL EN CUIDADORES FAMILIARES DE PACIENTES NEUROLÓGICOS.

Resumen Se describe el sistema de valores en cuidadores familiares de pacientes neurológicos y  se compara por género y por etapas ciclo vital (adultos jóvenes y adultos mayores). Diseño investigación ?ex post facto?. Se administró a 238 cuidadores el ?Cuestionario sociodemográfico y datos del cuidado? y el ?Inventario de valores?. Todos los cuidadores acordaron un sistema jerárquico de valores, excepto que el Sensitivo-Afectivo fue mejor evaluado por mujeres, el Intelectual por adultos jóvenes y el Estético por adultos mayores. Se apoya la estabilidad del sistema de valores y su relativa flexibilidad según género y etapas ciclo vital, aportando evidencia empírica  para las perspectivas basadas en la fortaleza frente a la adversidad. Abstract It is described the system of values in family caregivers of neurological patients and it is compared by gender and life stages (young and older adults). "Ex post fact" design. The "Questionnaire data sociodemographic and care" and the "Inventory of values" were given to 238 caregivers. All caregivers agreed to a hierarchical system of values, with an exception of the Sensory-Affective that was evaluated in a better way by women, the Intellectual by young adults and the Aesthetic by seniors. The values system stability and the relative flexibility are explained by gender and life cycle stages, providing empirical evidence to the approaches about strength to face up to adversity .
