Resumen:
A new species of Gymnocalycium subgen Gymnocalycium (subgen Ovatisemineum Schutz nom. illeg.) is described from the arentine province of La Rioja. It is distinguished by other species of the subgenus by the pronounced tubercles and the roundlish fruit.
