Resumen:
NGC 4382 is a massive early-type galaxy, belonging to Virgo cluster. This galaxy has formed the bulk of its stellar content 10^10 years ago, but it has also gone through interactions and mergers in the last few Gyr. However, it reignited star formation (and likely more than once since the main burst) with enriched interstellar matter whose traces were found in a young population of globular clusters that coexists with the elder one. Does this galaxy hide more clues about such a switch-on of stellar formation? We are looking for the fingerprints of the star formation episodes both in the optical and in X-rays by analysing: 1)the stellar population at different galactocentric radii with Gemini/GMOS longslit data, and 2) the hot gas content and contribution to the higher energy spectra with Chandra data.
