Resumen:
The industrialization of biomass from grains and cereals has proved valuable for industrial waste not used to its full potential. In this work, soybean oil as an emulsifier and chitosan as a biopolymer were used to form membranes with antifungal activity. Chitosan membranes were manufactured by emulsification (w/o). In the membranes, we incorporated biopesticides as functionalized phenols (FF) and 1?octen?3?ol by adsorption and inclusion. Thus, optical, mechanical, thermal, chemical and biological properties were evaluated. The antifungal activity of membranes containing FF was assessed against Fusarium verticillioides. The scanning electron micrographs determined membranes with different morphologies according to the incorporation method, inclusion and adsorption. The tensile test of control membranes and membranes with FF showed a percentage of elongation of 5%, and the rupture of the test tube at 1.95 kg·cm?2. The membranes developed were effective in controlling pest of stored grains, showing 80% of inhibition growth on Fusarium verticillioides. Keywords: Biomass; soybean oil; chitosan membranes, F. verticillioides
