Resumen:
Abstract One important disease of the potato tubers is the dry root cause by Fusarium species. Previously in our lab, potato tubers inoculated during 24hs with F. eurmatii were used to generate a cDNA library. The differential screening of the library was performed used control and subtracting probes. In this work we report the identification and analisys of 500 cDNA detected during the screening. Approximately 95% of the cDNA sequences showed similarity to previously describes genes. They were classified according to Arabidopsis thaliana functional categories. Genes involved in basic cellular processes: metabolism, and protein synthesis represented 28%. Genes involved in cell regulation processes: folding and protein degradation (8%) transcription and RNA processing (6%) and signal tradition (4%), were also represented. Genes with function related to stress and cell defense comprised 19% of the cDNAs. Transport, energy and cellular organization and biogenesis were the least represented categories. 24% of the cDNA s comprised putative protein with unknown functions. Taken together this results give the primary and global picture of the mechanism that activate in potato tuber during Fusarium eurmatii attack. In addition, this collection constitute a rich source of defense/stress-related and regulatory genes worth to be further studied.
