Resumen:
(Importante: El presente artículo fue enviado para su revisión en octubre del 2022, al momento se espera la aprobación del mismo por parte del revisor) Abstract: Green technologies in biomass processing require low-toxicity solvents. In this context, water + ethanol mixtures under subcritical conditions have been extensively investigated as alternatives for obtaining high-value products from renewable sources. For the accurate design of such processes, understanding the volumetric properties of water + ethanol mixtures under operating conditions, as well as the transition limits from a liquid-vapor to a monophasic system, is essential. In this study, experimental data of pressure, mass density, temperature, and composition were collected for water + ethanol mixtures under monophasic, isochoric, and subcritical conditions. Volumetric properties and phase transition points of mixtures with ethanol molar fractions of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 were analyzed within the temperature range of 430 - 530 K, employing a constant volume cell. The obtained data were employed to parameterize the RK-PR equation of state for predicting transition points of these mixtures within the investigated experimental range.
