A Lossless Wavelet-Based Predictive Multispectral Image Compressor

A multispectral image compressor is presented. It is based on the prediction of wavelet coefficients. A new mechanism is proposed for the ordering of the bands, based on a greedy algorithm applied to the wavelet detail coefficients of the 2 finest levels. Since our predictions are made on the wavelet coefficients, we fix an order according to the correlations of the corresponding S+P transformed blocks (only considering the 6 subbands for which prediction is done) in different bands.
