Resumen:
The purpose of this poster is to understand the human mobility in southern Mendoza (Argentina) exploring aspects of ceramic technology. Five ceramic assemblages are analyzed and the strategies of mobility are discussed. Different attributes of the archaeological ceramic like wall thickness, temper size, surface preparation and firing, are considered. The hypothesis proposed establishes that an increased investment in ceramic technology is expected in the highlands, followed by piedmont and then the lowlands. The highlands archaeological context differs from the rest. The reoccupation of locations is the best strategy to minimize pottery disadvantages allowing the promotion for the incorporation of this technology among small-scale societies.
