Resumen:
Ion Copoeru´s paper approaches the classic phenomenological topic of intersubjectivity in a newand interdisciplinary manner, by seriously considering the intersection of phenomenology andempirical contemporary research in sociology, semiotics, linguistics, and communication studies. The main thesis of the paper is related to the very concept of intersubjectivity. The author holds thatintersubjectivity must include elements pertaining to interaction, understood in a strong sense whichinvolves actions in the actual world. A secondary relevant thesis of the paper concerns the scope andmeaning of the Husserlian approach to intersubjectivity. Copoeru shows that Husserl´s reflectionson community and communication set the fundamental grounds from which later interactionalapproaches to intersubjectivity steemed. According to this, there would be a certain continuitybetween Husserl´s idea of social ontology and later sociological studies. The contemporarydevelopments in ethnomethodology and Conversational Analyses presented by the author should beunderstood as allowing a "deepening" or "fuller description" of Husserl´s conception of socialaction and social reality, in other words, as providing concrete tools to approach interactionalprocesses considered as "everyday people´s problems". In this way, the author traces a line ofinfluence that goes from the phenomenological approach of intersubjectivity to ethnomethodologyuntil it reaches the empirical level of intersubjectivity as the concrete organization of actions. Ingeneral terms, a promising "alliance" that requires collaboration between philosophers andempirical scientists is proposed. After reading a preliminary version of Prof. Copoeru´s paper, the following reflections/comments/questions came to my mind. Some of them concern the author´s presentation of Husserlian phenomenology of communication and communities and others refer specifically to the proposed idea of intersubjectivity as interaction in ethnomethodology and Conversational Analysis.
