Thefollowing article analyzes the constitution and development of the false touristcategory (ft), as part of the border control devices, within the framework ofthe first constitutionally elected government (1983-1989) in Argentina. Torespond to this concern, a national and regional-international organizationsdocumentary corpus are interpreted through a qualitative methodology. The mainconclusions reached include that the ft is part of differential bordermanagement. This an oriented and selective surveillance is formulated to rejectforeigners. The foreigners are qualified as ft, according to clothing, income,length of stay, place of origin, among other requirements. Classifying thesubjects as ft, and defining their rejection, seeks to reduce the illegalpotentials/futures down permanence ("undocumented" immigrants) who want towork, access the health and/or education system in Argentina.
