Resumen:
Rate coefficients for methoxybenzene, 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene, 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene and 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene reacting with hydroxyl radicals have been studied in a 1080 L chamber at atmospheric conditions using the relative kinetic method. The following rate coefficients (cm3 molecules-1 s-1) were determined at (298 ± 2) K: (2.86 ± 0.12) × 10-11 for methoxybenzene, (7.70 ± 0.36) × 10-11 for 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene, (1.29 ± 0.56) × 10-10 for 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene and (1.56 ± 0.69) × 10-10 for 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene. This work constitutes the first kinetic study for the three isomers of trimethoxybenzene. Differences in reactivity are discussed. Atmospheric lifetimes and implications are presented.
