Resumen:
The stress factor affects the homeostasis of hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenalaxis (HPA) in intensive systems raised pigs, which couldinduce long-term changes in offspring immune function. The objectiveof this work was to investigate the effect of weaning stresson lymphocyte proliferation at 14 days of age of vaccinated andcontrol mothers. Hybrids Landrace x Large White raised underconventional management practices coming from 10 mothers (5for litter) were used. The experiment was carried out in spring andsummer stations. Blood samples were taken before and after weaning.Mononuclear cells were collected for use in lymphocyte proliferationassay stimulated with Concanavalin A (Con A). The dataof offspring groups of vaccinated post-weaning (V-POST) and notvaccinated post-weaning (NV-POST) mothers were evaluated byanalysis of variance (ANOVA). The offspring NV-POST groupshows a significant decrease in the lymphocytes proliferation if wecompare it with the V-POST group, in spring as in summer. In conclusion, the post-weaning stress diminished the cellular immunityfunctional response in spring and summer stations.
