Towards a phylogeny of tinamous (Aves: Tinamidae): preliminary results from a new morphological analysis

The anatomy and systematic of tinamous are the subject of my Doctoral Dissertation at the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentina). The study deals with discovering osteological and plumage characters that can be used to test the monophyly of the traditionally recognized tinamou genera, as well as to analyze the cladistic relationships of their component species. Preliminary results are reported here.
