Resumen:
From a geological-hydrological applied approach, the modelling of distal river terraces and paleochannels of the Paraná River tributaries allow us to extend the temporal range of pre-instrumental analysis, considering that most hydrological mathematical idealizations presume that flood recurrence remains constant over time. A methodology is proposed to obtain a realistic assessment of the hazard of flooding and its effects on water resources in urban areas, located in lowlands of the Argentinean Litoral region.
