Resumen:
The Vega-like stars, also known as β Pictoris, are main sequence objects that show far infrared excesses in the spectral energy distribution. These excesses suggest the presence of relatively cool dust (T ˜ 100 K) in a circumstellar disk at a distance of about 80 AU from the central star, in analogy to the Kuiper Belt in our own Solar system. In addition to the reddening, the circumstellar dust polarizes the light emanating from the central star. In this contribution we carry out a polarimetric study of a group of 25 new candidates Vega-like objects. We compare the polarimetric properties of these type of stars with other groups of objects known to be associated with disks (the Herbig AeBe and the T Tauri stars) and with planetary mass objects (the Exoplanet Host Stars). The median polarimetric values of these groups suggest an evolutionary trend in which the disk material is gradually used in the planetary formatio
