This paper presents an exploration through the political discourses and public policies displayed around the integration of the immigrant population in the Spanish context, with a specific focus on the Catalan case. My purpose is to expose (i) the varied conceptions of nation and national identity that underlie in these narratives and (ii) the links between the national order and the migration order, brought to light by Abdelmalek Sayad.
