Resumen:
Borates have shown to be efficient materials to be employed for ionizing radiation detection given theirtissue-equivalent characteristics. Usually, the efficiency of these compounds is largely dependent on thepreparation methods and conditions. In this work nominally pure and Dy-doped strontium borates havebeen prepared by sol-gel method. The thermoluminescence and radioluminescence of the resultingborates have been investigated and correlated to their structural characteristics.
