Resumen:
pDCPR1and pDL209 are plasmids that belong to a new incompatibility group, ColE2-like,which has the particularity of having an hybrid structure composed by geneswith homology to the replicase (repA) of Pseudomonassyringaepathovarsavastanoi, andto partition genes (parA and parB)from Xanthomonasalbilineans. Inthis work, we investigated the distribution of this new incompatibility groupin clinical and environmental strains from Argentina in order to determine thepresumable direction of the gene flow. PCRswere performed using specific primers for repA, parA and parB inDNA extractions of 88 strains isolated between 2004-2014 belonging to variousgenera from hospitals (n=76) and environment (n=12). In addition, repA and parAtrees were constructed using NeighbourJoining ofall accessionnumbers withup to 60% identity at the protein level (n= 65 forrepA, n=34 for parA).Weidentified a higher frequency of genes associated with this incompatibilitygroup (repA,parA and parB) in?interface? species than in the other strains. Regarding the repAgene, we observed adaptations to different niches as well as a differentialspread of plasmids between the two hemispheres. With respect to parA, weobserved two clusters disseminating both in several ecological niches andspecies.Theseresults support the presence of a capture of environmental genes by the clinic, to which a transitional step or?interface? at a species level is added, exemplified by environmental strainsisolated in the clinic, that could act as reservoirs and vectors.
