Resumen:
In the present work, we present a second-order modifier-adaptation approach for real-time optimization (RTO) with constraints in the presence of plant-model mismatch. The use of second-order modifiers allows to use models that are inadequate for real-time optimization schemes that use only first-order modifiers. The modifiers are obtained from the constructionof a quadratic approximation of the plant-model mismatch based on the available past operating points that are generated in the RTO iterations. The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated in simulation for the optimization of a continuous stirred-tank reactor
