Simple Disulfides: Studies of Some Exponents of a Family Involved in Prominent Processes

Resumen:
In this work, we prepared and characterized several disulfides of the formula CCl3SSR, R=CH2CH3, CH2CF3, C(CH3)3, C6H5 and C(O)CH3. We used a variety of techniques to study these compounds, including vibrational spectroscopy methods, NMR spectroscopy, massspectrometry, X-ray structure determinations, and photoelectronspectroscopy. When complemented with computational chemistry, this range of methods and techniques provides new insights into the properties and behavior of these compounds.
