Resumen:
Background: Based on the immunoregulatory properties of the vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) we investigated VIP effects in implantation sites of this high resortion mating. Methods: CBAxDBA and CBAxBALB mating females were studied on d9 of gestation. Implantation sites were isolated after in vivo VIP treatment (1nmol ip) or PBS performed on d6. VIP/VPAC, RORγT and cytokine expression was assessed by RTPCR. (Protocol aproved School of Sciences Ethics Committee). Results: VIP and their receptor VPAC1 was expressed in uterus and induced at d9 of pregnancy. Moreover, VIP induced a significant increase in IL-10 and Foxp3 expression while decreased IL-17 and RORγT in the implantation sites. In vivo VIP treatment on d6 of gestation significatly increased the number of viable embryos at d9 (5,0±0,32 vs 7,5±0,50 p
