Resumen:
Traditionally, a logic has been defined as a set of inferences (those that are valid in the logic). In this vein, if two logics share the set of valid inferences they are the same logic. However, the development of metainferential logics has disputed this statement. In order to define a logic one not only needs to determine a set of inferences but also a set of metainferences (those that are valid in the logic). After this discovery, the applications of metainferential logics to different philosophical topics have been vast and fruitful. In this article, we introduce metainferential logics with all the technical details, along with their most relevant applications.
