Resumen:
Fusarium spp are plant pathogens and soil saprophytes that cause a broad spectrum of diseases. Fusarium solani f sp eumartii (F. eumartii) is an economically important pathogen for potato and tomato crops [1]. Fusarium wilt symptoms begin as slight vein clearing on outer leaflets and drooping of leaf petioles. Currently, control of Fusarium spp relies on toxic and synthetic fungicides increasing public concern regarding environmental contamination and proliferation of resistance. Thus, chitosan like a natural biopolymer represents a safe alternative to hazardous pesticides [2]. The aim of this work is to give insights into the properties and mechanism of action of chitosan oligomers (ChO) on the phytopathogenic fungus F. eumartii.
