NMR measurements are reported for several polyanilineHCl
samples and the
insulator/metal transition is observed. By means of the renormalization approach, we also present
numerical calculations of coherent conductance and density of states for different configurations of
long linear chains of emeraldine salt. We discus the roll of decoherence as the trigger for the
observed metallic properties in these polymers.
