Resumen:
Objective. To evaluate the expression and immunolocalization of claudin-4 (CLDN4) in placentasfrom a murine model infected with Salmonella enterica.Methods. 8-week-old female CF1 mice received a high dose of Salmonella enterica (SE) (2x108CFU/mouse) intragastrically. After 20 days post-infection, females were mated with males of thesame strain. At gestational day 18 (day 38 post-infection) the pregnant females were sacrificedand 2-3 placentas per female were removed. The expression and localization of claudin-4(CLDN4) in control and infected placentas were determined by real-time PCR,immunohistochemical staining and immunofluorescence. All experimental protocols wereapproved by the Animal Ethics Committee, University of Buenos Aires.Results.
