Resumen:
We have developed a modular communications system based on commercially available components and Linux operative system for reliably transporting the Pierre Auger Observatory (PAO) surface detector and AMIGA muon counters data. The system is comprised of a computing platform running Linux, software and an IEEE 802.15.4 compatible radio system, each of which can be consider a module that can be changed or modified if needed, without affecting the rest. The software includes radio controller, protocol stack and transparent PAO SD data integration. The system is now at an advanced test stage in the field and it is being evolved as the real conditions call, taking advantage of the modular designs flexibility.
